Situated at the tranquil heart of our beautiful vineyard you’ll find our welcoming Floating Rock Winery & Café. Offering sweeping views of the majestic Mt Rangitukua and the stunning Kuratau River valley, it’s the perfect venue for a quiet lunch, a group get-together, or that special occasion. If you’re planning a birthday or family party, we’d love to hear about your plans. Easily accessible from State Highway 41, Turangi, Tongariro National Park and Taupo, maybe Floating Rock Winery & Café is the ideal venue for you.
Our freshly prepared menu is proud to be packed full with top-quality ingredients to make sure you can enjoy every mouthwatering bite. And if you fancy something a little different, why not get stuck into one of our wood-fired pizzas. Each and every one is made to order, and the authentic creations have to be tasted to be believed! Whether you love it sizzling with salami, piquant and peppery, or with fresh herbs and cheese, there’s a topping for everyone to enjoy.
We’re also delighted to offer tastings and sales of our unique collection of wines including Pinot Gris, Blanc de Noir, and Pinot Noir from 2008 to 2010. We’re confident that once you’ve tried our wines you’ll wonder why you ever drank any other wines! We’ve also extended our range to include our first “champagne style” methode traditionelle made exclusively from our Pinot Noir grapes. And for something really different a few rows of our best Pinot Gris are chosen as a late harvest to produce a beautifully rounded dessert-style “sticky (or ice) wine”. This is simply delightful with any dessert, or even better served chilled as an aperitif.
All of our wines can be purchased from the Winery & Café, alongside cold pressed Green Gold Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is locally grown and hand-picked a stone’s throw away from the vineyard. You’ve tried the oil in the food at the Winery & Café, and now you can take some home with you too (along with a few bottles of that outstanding wine!) And if you’re looking for an enduring memory of your visit the beautiful images of local scenery that adorn the walls of the Winery & Café are all available to purchase.
